Cookie Policy

Last updated: September 19, 2026

1. Introduction

This Cookie Policy explains how NovaPath Med Labs ("we," "us," or "our") uses cookies and similar technologies when you access our learning platform (the "Service"). It explains what these technologies are, why we use them, and your rights to control their use.

We believe in transparency and minimal data collection. The Service uses only essential cookies required for its core functionality. We do not use advertising, analytics, or third-party tracking cookies.

2. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files that are placed on your computer, smartphone, or other device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work efficiently, to improve the user experience, and to provide information to the site owners.

Cookies can be "persistent" (remaining on your device until they expire or are deleted) or "session-based" (deleted when you close your browser).

3. Cookies We Use

The Service uses only essential cookies that are strictly necessary for the platform to function. These cookies do not require your consent under applicable privacy regulations.

Cookie NamePurposeTypeDuration
novapath-med-labs-sessionMaintains your authenticated session while you are logged in. Stores a session identifier that links to server-side session data.Essential (session)120 minutes of inactivity
remember_web_*Allows you to remain logged in across browser sessions when you select "Remember me" on the login page.Essential (persistent)Long-lived (deleted on logout)
XSRF-TOKENProtects against cross-site request forgery (CSRF) attacks. Used to verify that form submissions originate from the Service.Essential (session)Session duration

4. Local Storage

In addition to cookies, the Service uses your browser's localStorage to store a single preference:

  • Theme preference — Stores your choice of dark or light mode. This value never leaves your device and is not sent to our servers.

5. Third-Party Cookies

We do not use any third-party cookies. The Service does not embed content from third-party services that set their own cookies (such as YouTube, Google Analytics, Facebook, or social media platforms).

If third-party content or analytics tools are added in the future, this Cookie Policy will be updated accordingly, and appropriate consent mechanisms will be implemented.

6. Why We Don't Require a Cookie Consent Banner

Under the EU ePrivacy Directive and GDPR, cookies that are strictly necessary for the provision of a service explicitly requested by the user do not require consent. All cookies used by the Service fall into this category:

  • The session cookie is required for you to remain authenticated.

  • The remember-me cookie is required for the "Remember me" feature you explicitly request at login.

  • The CSRF token cookie is required to protect the security of your account and data.

No advertising, analytics, or tracking cookies are used, so no cookie consent banner is currently required.

7. Managing Cookies Through Your Browser

Although we only use essential cookies, you can control cookie settings through your browser:

  • Block all cookies: Most browsers allow you to block all cookies. However, this will prevent the Service from functioning correctly — you will not be able to log in or maintain a session.

  • Delete existing cookies: You can delete cookies stored in your browser at any time. This will log you out of the Service.

  • Manage cookie preferences: Most browsers provide settings to view which cookies are stored and allow you to delete them individually.

8. Changes to This Cookie Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.

If we add any non-essential cookies (analytics, advertising, etc.), we will update this policy and implement appropriate consent mechanisms before those cookies are activated.
